- Spreadsheets compare row by row, matched by content: a line added in the middle of a bid tab is one added row, not every row below it changed
- A changed cell is highlighted with the old value a hover away; added rows green, removed rows red; every sheet on its own tab with its own count
- PDFs show the page in the gutter and mark the words that differ inside a changed line
- Changes only hides what is the same; the arrows step through the changes with a count; Find and Wrap for long lines
- No tool to pick: the file type decides the comparison, and a PDF against a spreadsheet says so instead of comparing
- Drop two files anywhere in the window to fill both slots; Swap turns the comparison round and re-runs it
- Export report writes either comparison as a workbook with a summary sheet
- Reads PDF, .xlsx, .xlsm and .csv (ClosedXML replaces EPPlus); the old .xls is no longer read
